High-speed wire rod mill bearings must meet continuous operating requirements under high-speed and high-impact conditions. Therefore, building bearings that can withstand continued production and prevent bearing damage becomes a key criterion for manufacturers of high-speed wire rod mill bearings. Bearings in high-speed wire rod mills are used at the finishing mill locations within the high-speed steel rolling area. High speeds and high loads are a big challenge here. Depending on the shape and temperature of the rolled material, the initial peak load is more than twice the rolling force or mill torque. The result is a significant increase in the service life of the rolling bearings. In order to ensure the durability and safe operation of wire rod rolling equipment, high-precision special bearings are used, which can absorb the forces that occur and guarantee low friction and low vibration rotation with the components.
The accuracy standard of MONTON bearings is P5-P2, which is particularly suitable for such demanding applications. By doing this, long, expensive downtime is avoided while achieving a high-quality rolled product. High-precision roller bearings are manufactured to an accuracy of one thousandth of a millimeter, much higher than any other manufacturer. Due to this high accuracy, bearings do not need to have their eccentricity marked and therefore do not require standard markings on the inner or outer race. The advantage of this for our customers is that when mounting bearings, especially in the case of pairs of bearings, errors cannot occur if the eccentricity is not fully taken into account. In addition, the installation accuracy of the rolling mill can be greatly improved, which in turn has a positive impact on the quality and dimensional accuracy of the rolled products.
The finishing rolling unit in the high-speed steel rolling area has high speed and heavy load. The maximum speed is about 20,000 rpm, so the internal bearings are all specially designed custom bearings.
